Installing Cloud Console

Welcome! Cloud Console is a desktop application that provides management of your cloud compute environments. Once the Cloud Console application is installed, you can connect to your cloud environments.

To install Cloud Console, use the instructions in the appropriate section for your operating system.

Note for Linux systems: Cloud Console must be run in the graphical interface, but the installation is done with the command line interface. Open a terminal session for the command line installation.

For Windows systems:

  1. Click on the cloudconsole_installer.exe link to download the installer to your system.
  2. Navigate to the download folder and run the installer by double clicking on cloudconsole_installer.exe.
  3. Follow the prompts in the installer. A Start menu item and desktop icon are created as part of the installation.

For RPM based Linux systems:

  1. Click on the cloudconsole-x.x.x-xxxx.x86_64.rpm link to download the installer to your system. (Where x.x.x-xxxx is a version number.)
  2. Navigate to the download folder and install Cloud Console with either the Application installer if enabled or open a terminal window and from the command line use the rpm command. (This operation needs to be done with the root account of the system. The sudo command can be used if you have sudo privileges.)
  3. An entry is added the Applications list. The equivalent of a Start Menu listing for the Graphical Interface being used.
For DEB based Linux systems:
  1. Click on the cloudconsole.deb link to download the installer to your system.
  2. Navigate to the download folder and install Cloud Console by opening a terminal window and from the command line use the apt install command. (This operation needs to be done with the root account of the system. The sudo command can be used if you have sudo privileges.)
  3. An entry is added the Applications list. The equivalent of a Start Menu listing for the Graphical Interface being used.

For MAC OS systems:

  1. Click on the CloudConsole.pkg link to download the installer to your system.
  2. Navigate to the download area and double click on the CloudConsole.pkg to start the install process.
  3. Follow the menu items to install.
  4. The CloudConsole application is installed in the /Applications folder.
  5. To add a desktop shortcut or a dock shortcut, Navigate to the /Applications folder and drag the application desktop or dock.
To run the Cloud Console
  1. Double click the application icon to start Cloud Console. When prompted, click the Run button.
  2. Click the Add Connection tab. In the Add Connection dialog:
    1. In the Host field, select or specify the IP address provided to you by your IT service provider.
    2. In the User field, enter username provided to you by your IT service provider.
    3. In the Password field, enter the password provided to you by your IT service provider.
  3. Click OK. This begins your access to Cloud Console.

To get Help from the Cloud Console, use the Help menu at the top of the application window or click the blue Help button on the right side of the application window.
